Megan Witucki

Elementary & Children's House Assistant Principal

Welcome! My name is Megan Witucki, and this is my fifth year in the Compass community and my tenth year in education. I am thrilled to be joining the administrative team this year, taking on the role of Assistant Principal. I look forward to using my classroom knowledge and my experience in leadership to best support the incredible children, families, and staff at Compass.

I hold a BA in History and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado, a Colorado state teaching license, and a Montessori credential in both lower and upper elementary curriculum and instruction from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies. I am currently enrolled in the University of Colorado’s Doctorate of Education Leadership for Educational Equity Program, with a concentration area of Executive Leadership. I will bring my learning back to Compass to aid our program’s efficacy and implementation.

As a teacher with ten years of classroom experience in varied environments, including the Compass Lower Elementary for the past five years, I have been honored to take on many different leadership roles. Through these roles, I have been grateful to learn about the complexities of leading a public charter Montessori school. My time as staff board representative taught me the importance of listening to others and working together for the good of the children we serve; no one person can do this work alone, the authenticity of our program relies heavily upon distributed leadership and collaboration. Through my role as equity coordinator, I have valued the productive and critical cross-campus conversations necessary to ensure that our entire school community is a safe and equitable space for all families and staff who enter our doors. I wish to further this work in the role of Assistant Principal at Compass Elementary.

I am passionate about guiding, supporting, and encouraging the whole child in every student. I have a loving husband and daughter who are both part of our Compass community, and I feel lucky every day that Compass is the place where I work, grow, teach, and lead and my daughter thrives!
