Lisa Hazelton

Upper El Teacher

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Colorado the summer after graduating from The College of Wooster with a degree in Anthropology. I lived and worked in Estes Park, CO for two years as an Outdoor Education Instructor at the YMCA of the Rockies. I was fortunate enough to meet students from Compass on their 3rd-grade trips at the Y and was so excited to see students so happy and eager to learn. After completing my last season at the Y, I applied to work at Compass as a Children’s House Assistant and worked in the Forest Room for two years. While working in that room, I started my elementary Montessori training and received my certification through the AMI training center in Duluth, Georgia. I then worked in the upper elementary for three years and loved my time with the Fire Room students. I am now working in the Cypress Room and can’t wait to be a part of the lower elementary team! I am excited to continue working here at Compass and am lucky to work with such wonderful students and staff!
