Wheat Ridge Campus
The Compass Montessori School Pre-K through Elementary campus is located at 10399 West 44th Avenue, just west of Kipling and south of I-70, in Wheat Ridge. It is a charming 20,000 square foot building, formerly occupied by Garramone's Farmer's Market. The renovation preserved the history and organic feel of the farmer's market while transforming Garramone's into an innovative school facility. There is a large lunch room with plenty of windows and an ample playground on-site for the children to enjoy. The classrooms, each about 1000 square feet, are set up according to the Montessori philosophy for the "prepared environment." Classrooms have space for individual work, group projects, and "quiet time." In addition to our Library and Technology Center, each classroom has a small library and reading corner. Children may choose to work at tables or on rugs on the floor, depending on the activities in which they are engaged.
