Newsletter - October 6, 2016

Hi Pyrite Families,

It is hard to believe that we are already into October, where do the days go?  As Fall & Winter weather continues to approach, please help remind your child to dress for the weather! As in years past, we will be going outside for recess most days unless the weather is extreme.

We also want to remind you of some important events and dates for this month. First of all, we are already on Day 3 of Fall Conferences. There are a few families that still have not signed up, if this is you please do so, there are only a few slots left. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090c4da5a929a2f85-fall1

Other Important Dates:

Oct. 13 - 17     No School / Fall Break

Oct. 20            6th Grade Leadership Trip to the Low Ropes Course @ CU Boulder (please return form and $30 fee)

Oct. 21 - 22     6th Grade Rocket Night @ Golden Campus (please return form and $20 fee)

Oct. 28            High School Room Decorating Contest / Class Party / Upper El Bowling

Oct. 31            Elementary Pajama Day

As we gear up for our Halloween Celebration on Friday, Oct. 28, here are some things to know. Students are able to wear their costumes to school or bring it to change into or not wear one at all. We ask that they are school appropriate and not too frightening because we don't want to scare our Children's House and Lower El peers. We also ask that they don't bring fake weapons or contain too much gore like blood, guts, etc. In the morning we will take part in the High School room contest, then some of our 6th grade girls are planning the class party which will include food, sweets, beverages, games & activities. They have asked the students for donations of food/drinks, plates/napkins, decorations, and/or money. If your child has not told you this, now you know! Please help out with donations if you can. These same girls are also trying to plan a Golden Upper El Bowling Party for the afternoon at the Brunswick Zone in Wheat Ridge, to include a pizza lunch. This is still in the planning stages so we will keep you informed.

Thank you all for your support!
