Back To School Night

Available times to conference:  5 minutes or less – at drop off/pick up; if you have a concern that requires more discussion, please set an appointment with us. Our fall conference window this year for all students will be October 5-12.

 

School Hours:  The classroom door opens at 8:00 am. It is so important to be at school on time daily! Before-care will serve breakfast up until 7:45 and is included in the $10 fee; if you drop your child off after 7:45 there is no charge for before-care. Students who are late will need to be signed in by their parents on the computer by Sandy’s office.  Pick up is between 2:45-3:00pm in the hug and go zone. Please do not park or get out of your vehicle in the hug and go zone! Children have been reminded that there are no toys, food etc. while waiting in car line. Children will be taken to aftercare and a charge will be assessed after 3:00.

 

Classroom Notes:  

  • Our year curriculum is posted in the hallway.

  • We eat lunch in our classroom. Students should pack any utensil, napkins etc. needed for their lunch. We cannot heat up food in the room. Hot lunch forms are due back in the office by this Friday; gluten free and/or vegetarian options are available for an additional cost.

  • Student work and important flyers will come home weekly in students’ “Friday folder”. Please have students return their folder every Monday.

  • Classroom communications will be updated on our classroom's webpage. You can access it directly with this link: http://www.compassmontessori.org/olc/teacher.aspx?s=47 or through the Compass Montessori website. We will also (at times) use email to share information so please check your email address on JeffCo Connect for accuracy!

  • Group snack is provided by one child daily. The snack schedule is posted on the webpage and in the hallway. We have 33 students and snack needs to fit onto a napkin. We are a "peanut aware" environment and have several severe allergies. Please do not send drinks or any nut or humus related snacks. If you need to change your snack day for any reason please contact another family directly to make the switch.

  • Any medication for your child is given to Sandy to keep in the clinic.  It is required that medicine be in its original container with dosage/child’s name on the container.

  • Children with a temperature of 100 degrees or more, vomiting or diarrhea are required to remain home for 24 hours after being SYMPTON FREE!!

  • Please be sure your child has a water bottle daily.

  • PE will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays; children need appropriate shoes every PE day!

  • Hot lunch will begin on Monday, August 29. Children will need a sack lunch and drink/water bottle before that date.

  • Our Bingo dates this year are October 2, January 15, March 5 and May 7. Please consider volunteering as it helps our class earn valuable $$$ for materials!
