It's been a busy beginning of school and children are settling into our classroom routines. We are impressed with the variety of works being explored daily and the many new lessons given only two weeks into the school year! Children have begun to learn new names and everyone is making new friends. We have a great group of kids!
It was great to see many of you at Back to School Night last week and we are grateful to the many parents who have offered support to our class. Our reading program has been kicked off and kids are being read with daily. Please read at home with or to your child daily; modeling good reading habits is proven to positively impact children's reading.
One of our projects this week was to create a beautiful thank you card to express gratitude to the Lindelow family for the Hawaiian Koa tree planted on the slopes of Mauna Kea in the name of Compass Montessori. Our tree's GPS location is N20.01463 W155.44245, should you ever be in Hawaii and wish to visit, and the certificate of adoption is posted outside the front office.
We will be posting classroom news and information on this webpage regularly. It will also archive previous news, include field trip information and house the snack calendar. Please let us know if you are unable to access it for any reason.
We are looking forward to another fantastic year with you and your children!
