Anne Prosser is a Lower Elementary teacher in the Acacia Room on the Compass Wheat Ridge campus. Anne has taught in a lower elementary classroom for the past 12 years and worked in a Children’s House setting for two years prior to that. Anne has taught with her co-teacher, Tara Ferrin, for her entire eight-year career at Compass Montessori, and was fortunate to have worked with her in the past at Free Horizon Montessori. Anne is passionate about language and art and brings these passions into her teaching.
Anne received her Elementary Montessori credential from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in 2005 and earned her Bachelor’s in History at Brown University. In her 20-year career with JeffCo Anne has also taught in a traditional Kindergarten environment, K-6 Art, and Taekwondo. In her spare time Anne enjoys reading, creative projects, hiking, biking, archery and all terrain skiing, especially when combined with spending time with her husband, children and friends.
Anne recently completed training at the Shelton School in Dallas earning her Level I certification in Montessori Applied to Children at Risk. She hopes to continue her work with beginning readers by training in the Sequential English Education program at Shelton next summer. She currently serves on the Colorado Montessori Association Board of Directors in its work to be a voice for Montessori advocacy in Colorado. Anne loves her work with children and is thrilled to be a part of the Compass community!
