Erin Oliver is a Lower Elementary teacher in the Aspen Room. She joined the Compass staff in the 2010-2011 school year and is so honored to be a part of such a wonderful school and community!
As a military child, Erin grew up all over the place, mostly on the East coast, in the Midwest, and in England. She attended college at the College of William and Mary where she received a B.A. in Literary and Cultural Studies with an emphasis on Contemporary Literature, Women's Studies, and Hispanic Studies. Erin has worked in all sorts of places and situations before settling down with a Montessori teaching career: she was a sleep away camp counselor in Wisconsin, a white water rafting guide in West Virginia, a Montessori Children's House assistant in Virginia, and an English as a Foreign Language teacher in Santiago, Chile. Erin finally found her way to Colorado where she earned her AMS Montessori Certification from the Montessori Institute of the Rockies in Boulder. Prior to working at Compass, Erin worked for three years at the Montessori School of Denver. As an educator, she is passionate about helping each child reach his or her own potential while honoring each child's unique personality and learning style. She is so grateful to be a part of an amazing school like Compass, where the students, teachers, and parents all come together to ensure each child is receiving a world-class educational experience.
When she's not teaching, Erin enjoys hanging out with her husband and two kids. She can be found hiking, camping, rock climbing, skiing, running, or playing the ukulele.
