A Colorado native, I grew up in Golden and graduated from Wheat Ridge high school and CU Boulder. I've lived in Rhode Island, Alaska and South Africa and call Evergreen home with my husband Eddy and our two kids who have both attended Compass Montessori.
Mine was not a direct flight to Compass. Armed with a political science degree, I first landed in marketing communications but after 20 years I found I enjoyed volunteering and side jobs with kids: guiding multiple Compass Destination Imagination teams, working as a paraprofessional at Kyffin Elementary in Golden, and playing in the snow as a ski instructor in the Winter Park children's program and the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD). Realizing that working with kids was my true happiness, I embarked on a path to early childhood education as a preschool teacher at Bergen Meadow in Evergreen. Now I'm fulfilling my dream and combining my love for Montessori and early childhood education as an assistant in Children's House East.
