Email boardsec@compassk12.org with any questions you might have!

Who are we - Five Compass parents who are interested in supporting and furthering our school’s mission and ensuring our school’s success.

What we do - We meet monthly to discuss and approve ongoing school business, policies, as well as the school’s financial budget. We are also in charge of evaluating the Executive Directors’ performance annually and any possible buying or selling of property. This school year, we have only been meeting via Zoom. Our monthly meetings are open for all Compass parents to attend, and the agenda is posted beforehand.

April 20th - Compass Town Hall Meeting via Zoom 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM via Zoom

Each year, our School Accountability Committee hosts a Town Hall meeting for our school. Although it’s been a challenging year, there is A LOT to celebrate! We look back at all we’ve accomplished as a school, review some student data review, results of school climate surveys, view some pictures, and more. It’s a wonderful time to come together as a school community and the Town Hall always reminds us how fortunate we are to be in this Compass experience together.

DON’T MISS THIS - Want to thank our teachers? - This year, there will be a community share section of the Town Hall meeting, so we can all celebrate our teachers! Please attend and be ready to express your words of gratitude in the chat or community share for our teachers. Help us give them a moment to feel our gratitude!

Celebrations

Congratulations to Michelle Clark!

Congratulations to our Upper Elementary guide, Michelle Clark! Michelle won the Values Award through Jeffco Public Schools this week, and we are SO proud of her! Please check out the presentation of winners through Jeffco Public School here. (Michelle’s award is given at the 14:30 mark.)

Michelle has dedicated her time to leading our Compass Equity committee for the past two years, teamed up with our secondary school’s GSA to create an enrichment program called “Truly Me” wherein all children are invited to gather to express themselves through art and fun projects with the help of GSA peer mentors. She also headed up our Share the Love event this year, allowing students the opportunity to give back to their community in meaningful ways...even during a pandemic.

We’re proud to call her one of ours! Way to go, Michelle, your energy and kind, genuine soul is felt by all, and you are an inspiration!

Destination Imagination Celebration!

Congratulations to our Compass Destination Imagination teams placing at the Colorado State Tournament and heading for virtual Global Finals!

  • Second place: Engineering: Anticipation of the Orange Metal (11th years), with a mystery and a pointillism art structure.
  • Second place: Scientific: Maximum Jank (9th-11th) explored reflection and vampires.
  • Fourth, Technical: Oops (6th-7th WR and Golden) created a pangolin in a video game.

Each Challenge requires teams to use their collective skills to plan, build, and execute innovative ideas with no outside assistance. We are so proud of these students who persevered in this tough year! You can find their creative performances here.

Anne and Jeanne’s Retirement Boombox

Boombox is an opportunity to share your messages and/or pictures with Anne and Jeanne, which will be printed for a keepsake box they can keep forever. Please add your messages! You can create one as a parent, or let your child add one. If you know of a previous family who might want to contribute a message to the Boombox and/or attend these celebrations, please help us spread the word!
