Feb 19th - March Hot Lunch Order Forms are due today, links below! 

Feb 19th - Remote to In-Person Change form due for March 1st (K-6th)

  • Kindergarten through 6th-grade families, if your child is currently remote learning, and you would like to switch them to in-person learning starting March 1st, please complete this form by TODAY February 19th. This will be the last opportunity to make a change to your child’s learning format this school year. (Farm School students will have a final opportunity to make this change after spring break. If you have questions prior to that, you may email Kymm Garcia High School students may reach out to their guides for managing their schedules.

Ends Sunday, Feb 21st  - The Colorado Environmental Film Festival (CEFF) is virtual this year, and you can watch a short film about the Compass Farm entitled A Place to Grow here

Feb 23rd - Compass School Board Meeting at 6:00 PM via Zoom (password: Montessori)

  • Jeffco Public Schools is currently reviewing the in-person schedule for our Secondary programs (7th - 12th grades at Compass) for the rest of this semester. As a charter school, it is our job to consider what Jeffco is recommending for the neighborhood schools in our district and make a choice that best fits our Montessori charter environment. We’d like to hear from Compass families as well. The best place to share your thoughts is through community comment at the Compass School Board on Tuesday! 

Feb 25th - Executive Functioning Virtual Training for Families

  • Join us Thursday, Feb 25th, 5:30 PM-7:00 PM, for this parent/guardian and family training to help parents understand how to support their kids with Executive Functioning skills. Executive Functioning skills are brain functions that help us to accomplish goals, overcome challenges, plan and organize activities, and work to complete a task. These skills are critical to learning and while some students acquire them naturally, others struggle to develop them. Dr. Peg Dawson will teach participants how these skills develop and provide strategies families can use to help children be successful. Register HERE.

March 6th - Helping Teens Thrive

  • Join on Saturday, March 6th from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM to engage in sessions and activities focused on enhancing communication between teens and their trusted adults, building skills to address all of life's challenges, and promoting connectedness to prevent suicide.  Sessions are for adults and teens. March 14th - Senior Pics are due - (This deadline has been extended!)

  • Seniors pics - add your senior pics by MARCH 14th! 

April 11th - Deadline to buy your yearbooks 

  • Yearbook pics - Please upload any pictures you have of our school community so we can build a wonderful yearbook for 2020-21. 

  • Buy your yearbooks here by April 11th! 

Compass Summer Program - (almost full!) 

This year Summer Program will be offered on the Golden campus for Children’s House and Lower Elementary only, which includes three year olds through third grade (the age/grade your child will be in the 2021-22 school year.) It does not include Upper El this year. Families do not have to attend Compass to register for the Compass 

Summer Program. Registration information is HERE. Summer Program tends to fill up quickly, so be sure to take a look and complete the form ASAP if interested! 

What about Skill-Building Workshops?

The registration form form the Skill-Building Workshops will be sent next week, stay tuned! We are thrilled to offer an academic catch-up experience for students. We have been busy coordinating teacher schedules for the summer, and you can expect it by next week! 

Did you know? We are working on a new logo and website for our school!?

Compass and the Brand & Website Committee have been working hard this school year to fine-tune new creative for a new school logo and website. A huge thanks to everyone who raised their paddle at last year’s Festa, as that moment funded this gift to our school. Watch out for ways to contribute your thoughts about what Compass means to you over the next few weeks! And get ready for a new website experience by next school year!

Volunteer Requests! 

Students are in search of a used pottery wheel for purchase - Hi! My name is Zoey, I am in 9th grade, and would like to lead pottery self-expression for my valorization project. However, to do that we would need a wheel, please email me if you have any information that could help! Thanks!

Self Expression Support - We need you! 

We are looking for a parent or guardian who may be interested in offering a comic book art class for Farm School Students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades this spring.  The class would meet on a virtual platform for 6 weeks, once weekly on a Wednesday. If you have experience in this and are interested in teaching a class, please reach out to

Skate Park/Ramp Project - We need you! 

We have several students who like to skateboard and bike, and they could use another healthy activity at Grampsas park. We are hoping a parent or guardian may be interested in petitioning the City of Golden to see if building a skate park or ramp would be a possibility. Tuition reminder - Due on the 1st, late after the 10th

February tuition and After Care fees were due on Feb 1st and considered late after the 10th. If you have questions on how to log into Jeffco Connect or pay fees, click here. 

Please pay your lunch fees! 

Please be sure to log into Jeffco Connect to pay your lunch fees for February, as they are also due at this time.  

COVID regulations 

Please screen your child prior to arriving at school. Students with ANY symptoms CANNOT be at school. As a reminder, the symptoms to screen for include the following:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing 

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches 

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea, vomiting

  • Diarrhea

During this pandemic, students will continue to be sent home for COVID symptoms, per the CDC, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Jeffco Public Schools. Please plan to screen your children, and be ready to pick them up if we find they have COVID symptoms. Please keep our Health Aides posted on any COVID news regarding your child.
