What do we need to do if we are interested in a Before/After Care spot for our child(ren) in the 26-27 school year?
The first round of the 2026-27 lottery applications were due by by April 20, 2026. We are now taking waitlist applications.
When will we be notified about whether we got a spot in the 26-27 B/A Care Program at the WR Campus?
If you are offered a spot, you will be notified by April 24, 2026 either way. Otherwise, waitlist spots will be offered as they come up.
Are spots given on a first-come, first-serve basis?
No, each category will collect applications, and spots will be assigned through a lottery system, and per income verification after all applications have been collected by April 20, 2026. As long as your application is received by April 20th, you have an equal opportunity for a spot. Waitlist spots are reviewed as they come in, and determined based on income verification and timeline.
If we are offered a spot, what comes next?
You will receive an email on April 24th to let you know whether you got a spot or not. If you do, a non-refundable $50 registration fee (per child) will be due by May 1st to confirm your spot.
Is there a chance we do not get a spot if we complete the application?
Yes, spaces are offered equally in three categories - Free, Reduced & Full, based on income verification and income eligibility, and then through a lottery. There are limited spaces in each category, per our childcare license. This is no longer a first-come, first-serve program. You will be offered a spot in the program, or a spot on the waitlist.
Which days will Before/After Care at the WR Campus be available next school year?
The 2026-27 Before and After Care program will only be offered in a 5-day-a-week model, and drop ins will not be available. Check out the calendar for closure dates HERE.
How much does Before/After Care at WR cost?

What if I need Before/After Care, but only on a part time basis?
We only offer a five-day-a-week option, so if you only need 2-3 days/week, you will still need to pay for the five-day-a-week program.
What are my options if I do not get a spot in Before/After Care at the WR Campus in the 2026-27 school year?
We will keep your name in the lottery and pull from it as a waitlist if/when spots become available. Otherwise, families should plan on finding other after school childcare. After school enrichment program registrations will open in August 2026. Please watch for those options in Back to School news in August.
What if my child is participating in after school enrichment?
If you get a spot in Before/After Care at the WR campus next school year, and you register for after school enrichment in August, your child will go to their enrichment class, and then be taken back to their After Care program. If you are a reduced or full paying family, you will pay for both after care and enrichment. If you do not get a spot in Before/After Care at the WR campus, and your child is participating in after school enrichment, you will just pick up your child after the enrichment class ends.
Will the free, reduced, or full payment be an option for after school enrichment programs?
No, as after school enrichment programs are through separate vendors (not Compass staff) using our building for after school opportunities for students. Some of them do offer scholarships, so please reach out to them directly.
If we are a Free & Reduced Family, will we need to re-submit our financial documents for free/reduced lunches, trips, etc?
No, if you complete this process and qualify for free or reduced status, we will use this application to apply that status toward lunch and trips.
What if we miss the deadline?
If you miss the deadline, we will add you to the round TWO lottery. We will exhaust the round one lottery list before moving on to the round two list.
