Yearbook Syllabus


Welcome to Yearbook in the Makerspace!


You earn credit in the following ways:


Content Knowledge and Work Time in Makerspace: (40%) Are you learning techniques in photography and graphic design? Are you using class time to create, observe, and demonstrate growth and knowledge? Do you use cameras and computers appropriately? Do you care for the space, equipment, and clean up after yourself?


Assignments: (40%) Self-evaluations of the techniques and processes you used to produce pages for the yearbook. Photography at school events (Harvest Fest etc.) and participation in sharing completed work. 


Written Final Exam & Reflection (5%)

Understanding the art world: what did you learn about the history and practice of photography and print as an art form?


Sketchbook: (15%) 1 entry per week and notes from class.  



Required Projects and Due Dates: The purpose of the 4 required projects is to explore tools, techniques and materials. Projects are due at the beginning of class. 


September: Photography Composition 9/26


October: Print Layout 10/24


November: Experimentation in Photography 11/21


December: Written Art Final 12/12

Experimentation in Photography: This is your opportunity to explore photography further and without subject matter relating to school.
