Event Highlights & Topics
- Creating Safe School Environments: Learn how Jeffco Public Schools works to create and maintain safe learning environments for students and staff. This presentation will provide an overview of the Department of School Safety, including prevention efforts, building safety measures, emergency preparedness, drills and training, and the Standard Response Protocol used across the district.
- Online & Social Media Safety: Join Arvada Police Department School Resource Officer Ortega and Jeffco’s Suicide Prevention Coordinator, Deb Gopstein, for a conversation about navigating online spaces and supporting students' digital safety and mental well-being. Families will learn about online and social media safety considerations and ways to support their children as they navigate an increasingly connected world.
- Understanding Safe2Tell: Learn how Safe2Tell provides students, families, and community members with a way to anonymously report safety concerns. This presentation will introduce families to Safe2Tell, explain how the resource works, and share how it can help connect students and schools with support when concerns arise.
Strong, proactive partnerships between families, schools, and local emergency services are vital to building safer, more supportive learning environments. We are deeply grateful to the Arvada Police Department for organizing this valuable series and partnering with us to keep our community safe.
