Part-Time Cross-Campus K-12 Occupational Therapist
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Oversee and deliver occupational therapy (OT) services for a caseload of roughly 35 K-12th grade students across the two campuses of Compass Montessori School
- Facilitate any or all of the following areas that may interfere with a child's educational performance: self-help skills (feeding, dressing, hygiene); fine, gross, and visual motor skills; sensory processing and visual processing skills; positioning, functional mobility, and transitions; functional communication through alternative methods; and adaptive devices/equipment and using educational tools/toys.
- Administer and interpret educationally relevant assessments to determine why a problem is occurring and identify possible solutions.
- Implement all aspects of the Individuals with Disabilities Act, (IDEA) in accordance with district, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Responsible for supervision and follow through of school-based OT services from screening through assessment, identification, IEP and 504 development, and assisting in providing appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities.
- Design and deliver instruction in alignment with IEP goals and Section 504 plans, as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Organize and ensure completion of all evaluation reports, IEPs, and Section 504 plans containing OT consultation, direct, or indirect services
- Complete reviews of all special education IEP and Section 504 documents, ensuring compliance with District procedures, state, and federal laws
- Work with administration, teachers, and special education teammates at both campuses to facilitate optimal inclusion of all students into regular classes as appropriate
- Regularly monitor and record student progress toward IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with families and general education staff about student progress
- Provide consultation services with school staff and families, as needed
- Maintain records about IEP/504 service delivery, including documenting in the ezEDMed system for reimbursement purposes
- Informally consult with classrooms regarding OT/motor strategies as part of the general education MTSS process
APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
- desire to work in an elementary Montessori environment
- experience working in a K-6th grade public school setting
- ability to maintain confidentiality and whole-child views of children and families served
- desire to work using a multi-disciplinary team approach
- transportation to travel between both campuses of Compass Montessori
- knowledge of the Special Education process and laws
- excellent organizational skills, oral and written skills, and time management skills
- familiarity with, and system for, making and recording observations of student behavior, demeanor, and response style during testing
- skills for templates and assessment reporting tools to capture student results and describe findings relative to special education eligibility criteria
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a Special Service Provider License from the Colorado Department of Education or be eligible for a three-year Special Service Provider Licensed.
- Must be certified by the National Certification Board of Occupational Therapists (NCBOT) and Department of Regulatory Agency (DORA) prior to hire
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel between schools/sites served.
- Normal routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can not always be anticipated.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, such as large test kits, up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to meet the physical needs of students.

Responsibilities: Essential Functions
- Administer a high-quality Montessori-based Math curriculum as per the discipline taught
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to create integrations within broader units of study related to all disciplines and practical life
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs.

Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, Elementary Guides facilitate student success and growth in a Montessori public school setting. This includes: documenting teaching, observation, and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students; creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. The school is structured so that the position would either be for a Lower Elementary classroom (grades 1-3) or for an Upper Elementary classroom (grades 4-6).

SUMMER PROGRAM CLASSROOM ASSISTANT
Full time position, Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts in June & July 2023.
Qualifications - We are seeking an energetic, creative person to work with 3, 4, and 5 year olds in a Montessori summer program environment. The person selected for this position will be responsible for the general supervision and management of a group of 30 children with the support of two additional qualified co-workers.
This person must have a warm, friendly, patient personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with Compass Montessori Summer Program philosophy. A summer program classroom assistant is responsible for reporting any concerns to the Director.
Duties include:
- Supervising the children and making their safety a top priority
- Assisting in the planning and preparing of the child care environment, setting up the environment, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Supporting the general housekeeping tasks needed in the environment.
- Maintaining professional attitude and loyalty to the program at all times.
- Attending and completing all recommended training to meet employment requirements prior to their first day of employment.
- Maintain classroom ratios at all times in accordance with licensing requirements.
Required Skills and Abilities - Candidate should have the ability to react to and move quickly, lift, push and carry up to 40 lbs. Must be able to sit for up to 30 minutes and stand for one hour. Must get along with others, have patience and the ability to be flexible and adapt to schedule changes. Must display good time management, be perceptive and aware of al children inyour care, as well as be able to read stories to children.
Hourly Rate: $14.00 - $22.00/hour

AFTER CARE ASSISTANT (click arrow to expand)
AFTER CARE ASSISTANT
This position is a part-time hourly position with about 15-20 hours per week when school is in session. Must be available to work between 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM Monday – Friday.
Duties include ensuring the safety and security of students and staff at all times, maintaining daily activities are on schedule, distributing supplies and snacks to students, and assisting the After Care Coordinator with other tasks with our aftercare students.
Hourly Rate: $14.00 - $18.00/hour (determined at time of hire) Includes Employee Assistance Program and Retirement Plan.
