SPREAD THE LOVE 2023


Hello Compass Families,

Our Upper Elementary students would like us to share their Spread the Love 2023 donation drives with you, going on right now! Please review the lists of requested items below for each campus, and drop off the items you’d like to donate (at the appropriate campus!) before Feb 13th! Check out their lists below.

 

We’re collecting items for several organizations as part of our annual Spread the Love event! Spread the Love is a special day where upper elementary students “spread love” by completing service projects at various organizations throughout Denver! 


Donations  can be dropped off by the front doors at Wheat Ridge & Golden between February 6th and 13th. (Please see below for each campus’ list).

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless

Work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for families, children, and individuals who are experiencing or at-risk of homelessness throughout Colorado.


Please use Sign Up Genius so we know what items you’d like to donate, if choosing to donate to the Colorado Coalition, as they have specific guidelines. . 


  • Soup/noodle
  • Sweet/salty snacks
  • Bottled water
  • Fruit 

 

WeeCycle

WeeCycle is a nonprofit whose mission is to recycle essential baby gear

and match it to Colorado families in need.


  • Any size diapers (preemie, sizes 4, 5, and 6 are most needed)
    • Packages can be open  
  • Wipes
  • Baby lotion/soap
  • Diaper rash cream
  • Crib sheets and mattress pads
  • Nail clippers
  • Thermometers
  • Formula
  • White noise machines and monitors 

Clothes to Kids

Clothes To Kids of Denver proudly provides new and quality used clothing in a boutique setting to Denver area students from low-income or in-crisis families, free of charge.


Clothes need to be:


  • Appropriate for youth and teens (Suitable for school.)
  • New or gently used (Would you give it to a friend?)
  • Clean and ready-to-wear (No stains, holes or broken zippers.)
  • Current styles (Appealing to kids, pre-teens, teens and young adults.)

 

 

GOLDEN CAMPUS FOOD DRIVES


Family Tree 

Family Tree is a non-profit human services agency providing innovative, life-changing services designed to end child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.

 

Students are collecting the following: 

  • Canned foods, can openers, and pull-top canned food (soups, fruit, ravioli, chilis, canned tuna and chicken, etc
  • Rice mixes
  • Applesauce
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly
  • Crackers
  • Beef Jerky
  • Trail Mix
  • Protein and granola bars
  • Pretzels
  • Chips

Ralston House - Ralston House is a not-for-profit agency that provides a friendly and safe place for child and teen survivors of abuse to tell their stories and begin the healing process.


Students are collecting the following: 

  • Non-Perishable individually wrapped snacks 
  • Bottled Water
  • Bubbly Waters Or non-caffeinated canned drinks
  • Juice boxes

 

Our students are also serving many other non-profit organizations on Feb 14th, and we’re still in need of more drivers/chaperones for that day. We need volunteers for the morning, afternoon, or all day! Grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. can also help out! Please sign up here
