Peace Day Hike Sept 19th 5:30 AM

Join us for this annual tradition in honor of Peace Day! Meet at the Golden Campus at 5:30 AM, and walk the mesa with our school community. Hope to see you there!

Who: All ages are welcome!

(Please Note: As this is a community event before school hours, parents/guardians are asked to accompany their child(ren) for the duration of the hike).

When: Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 5:30 AM - 7:30 AM

What: Please join us for a Peace Day Sunrise Hike up North Table Mesa! The hike is just over 4 miles.

We will leave together at 5:30 AM from the front steps of the main building (Golden Campus). We’ll walk from campus to the trailhead just north of the school on Easley Road, then up the Lithic Trail, turning left on the North Table Loop. Then we’ll head up the Cottonwood Canyon Trail to the summit.

NO DOGS/pets on the hike, per our school's insurance policy (not because we don't love pets :); thank you for your cooperation!

Sunrise on September 19th will be at 6:45 AM. We plan to be back down off the mesa in time for school.

Please make sure to bring water.

Peace Day is to acknowledge and help children understand respect, the level of community, being able to resolve issues in a peaceful way, and that conflict doesn’t have to result in violence and aggression, we can find a middle ground through peaceful means. We create a peaceful community from within that is the energy we send into the world. Our hike also helps us connect with the natural world, and promotes peace by doing so.
