Graduation Requirements and HEAR
Compass Montessori High School follows Jeffco Public Schools' credit requirements for graduation for all students, who ultimately graduate at the end of their High School career with a Jeffco Public Schools diploma.
Students regularly check in about their credit requirements and their status towards graduation with their academic advisor. Parents/Guardians with questions about credit requirements should reach out to their student's advisor.
In addition to the Jeffco requirements, Compass Montessori High School encourages students to complete coursework according to HEAR (Higher Education Admission Recommendations), a program established by the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE). HEAR recommendations include the following coursework, all of which is offered at Compass Montessori:
| Academic Area | Recommended Engagement |
| English | 4 Years |
| Mathematics (Including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II or equivalents) | 4 Years |
| Natural/Physical Sciences (Two units must be lab-based) | 3 Years |
| Social Sciences (at least one unit of U.S. or World History) | 3 Years |
| World/Foreign Language | 1 Year (Compass advisors recommend at least two years) |
| Academic Electives | 2 Years |
Students are also encouraged to take coursework outside of Compass should they desire to pursue a career field or degree program outside of the preparatory coursework offered at Compass. Each year, a number of Compass students participate in programs at Warren Tech (a Jeffco Public School offering career and technical education) and at Red Rocks Community College. Students interested in Warren Tech or Red Rocks should speak with their advisor to discuss appropriate options.
