Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are an integral part of the Compass Community. We need all the volunteers we can get to help support the children's growth and development and to help our year run more efficiently. We have many opportunities available and you are sure to find one that suits your interest! You are welcome to sign up for as many opportunities as your schedule allows.

From Reading Buddies to Book Menders, to a weekly PE cheerleader, we can't do it all without YOU!

About Mystery Readers (click to open)

Mystery Readers

We are looking for parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, or other special people in your child's life to be a Mystery Reader every Friday afternoon in our classroom this year!

Mystery Readers will arrive at the school Friday morning at 8:45 am on your chosen date.
Please bring 2-3 books with you to read to the class.
Check in at the Office and let them know "I am the mystery reader for the Meadow Room". They"ll give us a call and when we're ready for you, we will walk down with your student who will escort you to our classroom.
You will receive an email from [email protected] asking for 5-7 clues about yourself the week before your chosen date.
The following week, we will give the children one clue a day about who you are and see if they can narrow down who the Mystery Reader is that week!

This is such a fun experience for the children because it shows what they know about the people in their lives without being told exactly who they could be. They are always very excited when they figure out who it is too. If you can help it, please don't spoil the surprise for your child.

We hope to have you as a Mystery Reader in our classroom!

Daily Laundry Warrior Duties

We kindly ask that each family choose one to two weeks during the school year that they can take home our classroom laundry each day of that week to be washed, dried, and returned to school the following day so that the children have clean napkins, placemats, and towels to use daily.

Please do not fold or sort the laundry as this is a job that the children will work together to complete daily.
